See plants that are rare and/or unique to the area:

- Multi-stemmed goldenwood (Oönopsis mulitcaulis, a regional endemic);
- Dakota buckwheat (Eriogonum visheri, another regional endemic);
- Plains frostweed (Crocanthemum bicknellii, a new species and family for Montana in 2019);
- Double bladderpod (Physaria brassicoides);
- Wyoming Ipomopsis (Ipomopsis congesta ssp. pseudotypica); anMontana’s only native oak, bur oak (Quercus macrocarpa), which in our state occurs only in Carter County.
