Yaak River & Falls walk – N of Troy

Saturday, April 25, north of Troy – Yaak River & Falls walk

The hike starts on terraces overlooking Yaak Falls with beds of glacier lilies and other early bloomers. Then an easy 1-to-2-mile round-trip walk downstream along the Yaak River on the Dipper Trail #704. The trail has little elevation change, but an uneven, rocky tread. We’ll see some big trees, old mine shafts, and maybe calypso orchids and Geyer’s biscuitroot.
